Cushing Adult Captures Life in a Song

Lee Rasiel smiling at a piano

Lee’s Songwriting Story:

Highland resident Lee Rasiel was accepted into a 6-week song-writing course at the South Shore Conservatory, courtesy of a grant from the Flutie Foundation.  After 6 weeks, he completed a wonderful song about living at Highland residence and just being himself, set to the music of “Budapest” by George Ezra.  The lyrics are here; he was able to perform his song at a karaoke night at New England Village in Pembroke, where his housemates came to cheer him on.  Lee plans to sign up for another song-writing session in October, and continues to sing and play the piano at the Cushing Café during various lunch rushes.

Lee’s Song

My House in Marshfield
My, my hidden piano book
Golden Shades of Orange
My beautiful room

(Chorus) You Ooh, you
Ooh, I’d leave it all

My piano playing
It’s been 1 year
I’m learning
A New song it’s call
Hey Lee

For Leanne
Ooh Leanne
I learn a song

And give me one good reason
Why I should never change
If you I like who I am and it is Joyful
All of this

My shelves of knowledge
The list goes on
If you just say the words
I’ll, I’ll up and read

(Chorus)

And give me one good reason
Why I should never change
I like who I am and all of this is
Joyful

Give me one good reason
Why I should never Change
I like who I am
And all of this is Joyful

My favorite game to play is
Name five, when I play with Mark
We have a great time together
We have a great time

And give me one good reason
Why I should never change
And baby if you I like who I am and
All of this is joyful

My house in Marshfield
My, my hidden piano book
Golden shades of orange
My beautiful room

(Chorus)
