“Cookies and Chat” has become a monthly event for Cardinal Cushing Centers’ adult clients and seniors living at the Union Towers Retirement Community in Weymouth.  What first started as an employment arrangement where adults participating in the South Shore Industries program provided cleaning services to Union Towers has now developed into a meaningful relationship.  Each month a group of adults with intellectual disabilities visits with the residents of Union Towers to enjoy conversation, music and stories.  “Our guests from Cardinal Cushing Centers know the fullness of joy, and they bring their special blessings to our residents,” states Denise Moloney, Director of Social Services at Union Towers. “We have enjoyed these meetings so much that we are expanding the program to our second location, Union Towers II.”

Cardinal Cushing Centers’ Adult Services program offers Life Opportunities Unlimited where adults participate in recreational and community activities.  Adults participating in Cardinal Cushing Centers’ South Shore Industries program learn job skills and earn a paycheck through employment opportunities provided by our many Employment Partners.  To learn more about Cardinal Cushing Centers’ Adult Services, click here.
