Cardinal Cushing Centers Golf Tourneys Turn Heads

A group of golfers wait for tee off at this year’s St. Coletta Classic at Marshfield Country Club

Cardinal Cushing Centers, Bob’s Discount Furniture and Rockland Trust Golfers Raise $310,000

Cardinal Cushing Centers hosted two golf tournaments on the South Shore once again this Fall, to raise money and awareness for programs that support individuals with intellectual disabilities.  Combined, the two tournaments raised an estimated $310,000 for the organization – which provides day, residential and vocational supports for nearly 400 adults and students across the greater Boston area.

The Coletta Classic at Marshfield Country Club, in partnership with Rockland Trust, enjoyed a full tee sheet of players– thanks to sponsors like CBRE, Everon, Delphi Construction, Leonard, Mulherin & Greene, Adrenaline, and more.  The Cushing Classic enjoyed crisp but cooperative weather at Black Rock Country Club after last year’s rain cancelation, with a full roster thanks to partner Bob’s Discount Furniture, along with TJX Foundation, Alera, The Kraft Family, Patriots Foundation and many more.

“We were very grateful to all of the men and women who came out on these gorgeous Fall days to enjoy not just golf, but also the spirit of Cardinal Cushing Centers and the students and adults we support,” said Cushing President and CEO Michelle Markowitz.  “We were especially grateful for the students and adults we had helping out at the event, and the Cushing Traveling Chorus who performed for our guests.”

“This is an event we look forward to year after year,” added Heather Ghilardi, Fixed Income Research Analyst at Rockland Trust, which has been supporting the St. Coletta Classic for 40 years. Bob’s Discount Furniture CEO Ted English and his community have been supporting the Cushing Classic for 19 years.
