A Message from President & CEO Jo Ann Simons – November 2013

November 6, 2013

Dear Friends, Jo Ann Simons

Welcome to the first edition of Cushing Community News, a quarterly e-newsletter designed to help us communicate with our closest friends and share the latest and greatest happenings on both our Braintree and Hanover campuses. When you support over 500 individuals each year across two campuses and 12 community residences, with over 500 staff working tirelessly each day to do so, you generate so many great stories. It’s hard to share them all. We hope you tune in quarterly with us to read about some of our favorite moments and follow us on facebook, Twitter and YouTube to stay up-to-date between editions.

We also hope to hear from you with your suggestions about how we can communicate better. Please, send us your feedback or suggestions for how we can improve Cushing Community News.

Before you read more about our wonderful students and adults, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce two new members of our team. Christine Lenahan recently joined us as Associate Vice President of Education and Program Development. Lenahan brings to Cushing over twenty-five years of expertise. When not at work at Cushing, Chris Lenahan is an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at Salem State University. [Read more about Chris here.]

Amy Purkis, M.Ed., BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), is Cushing’s new Coordinator of Behavioral Services. Amy brings a wealth of experiences and knowledge to Cushing, having worked in public school systems both as a BCBA and a special education teacher. [Read more about Amy here.]

We are thrilled to welcome both Chris and Amy to our team.

Thank you for tuning in to our first edition of Cushing Community News and for always being a great friend and supporter of the Cardinal Cushing Centers. You can continue to support us by making a contribution to our annual Opportunity Fund  Your contribution ensures a positive, enriching experience for all of Cardinal Cushing Centers’ students and adults. Donate now and help change the life of someone with an intellectual disability.

Cheers,

Jo Ann
